Stewardship

In today’s fast-paced world, it’s easy to overlook the importance of stewardship and the role it plays in the life of our church community. As Christians, we are called not only to attend services and participate in church activities but also to generously support the ministry that nurtures our faith and serves our community.

As we reflect on our blessings, let us consider how we can share those blessings through our giving, personally committing to a spirit of generosity and stewardship.

What is Stewardship?

In the church, stewardship is the theological belief that God is the owner of all things, and humans are merely managers entrusted to care for His resources. It is a lifelong commitment to honoring God by giving back a portion of your blessings through Time, Talents, and Treasure.

  • TIME:
Dedicating your schedule to prayer, scripture study, volunteering, and building relationships.
  • TALENTS:
Using your unique skills, passions, and spiritual gifts to serve your local community and church ministries.
  • TREASURE:
Supporting the operations, staff, missions, and charitable outreach of the church through regular financial offerings.

Stewardship compels us to consider how we can invest our time, talents, and treasures to enrich the lives of others and contribute to St. Matthew’s mission: To share the love of Christ by putting faith into action through worship, prayer and outreach in the downtown community and beyond. Whether your calling lies in leadership, teaching, music, or community service, our Ministries page has a wealth of opportunities waiting for your unique skills and interests. Let’s work together to make St. Matthew’s a beacon of hope, compassion, and love in Kenosha.

2026 Stewardship Campaign

Tell Out My Soul

This year, our focus is on the rich tapestry of our Christian narrative, a story that began at Creation and weaves through the lives of the faithful, culminating in the transformative power of the Good News. Just as the Gospel of Luke opens with Mary’s joyous proclamation of her encounter with God’s promise, and closes with Mary Magdalene carrying the message of resurrection, we too are called to share our own Good News—the dreams and challenges placed on our hearts by God.

As you consider your pledge for the upcoming year, reflect on how you can share your talents and gifts to make a difference. Let us celebrate the stories that unite us and the lives we can impact by spreading God’s love to our neighbors. Together, let us contribute to the ongoing narrative of faith, hope, and community at St. Matthew’s!

We all have special talents, abilities, and interests as gifts from God to share for the enrichment of our church and community. In response to God’s call, and in gratitude for the community it provides us.
