Plenty of Good Room: Week 2
One of the greatest gifts God gives us is the gift of one another.
Weekly Reflection: Plenty Good Room for Service
At St. Matthew’s, we are blessed to witness how God is at work through the hands and hearts of our congregation. There is truly plenty good room for service as members answer Christ’s call to care for one another and our neighbors.
From the Elder Garden, where seniors come together through gardening, fostering fellowship, purpose, wellness, and connection with God’s creation. to the Giving Wall, where generosity meets real needs, lives are being touched every day. Through Pastoral Care, we walk alongside those experiencing illness, grief, or life’s challenges, reminding them they are never alone. Our long time participation in the Shalom Center Soup Kitchen offers not only meals but dignity, welcome, and hope for those facing food insecurity. And through St. Benedict’s Circle, we advocate with community partners to address the needs of our unhoused neighbors and work toward lasting solutions.
These ministries are more than programs. They are living expressions of God’s love made visible through the gifts, talents, prayers, and financial support of our members. As we continue our stewardship journey, we invite you to consider where God may be calling you to serve. Whether you have an hour to give, a skill to share, a passion for advocacy, or simply a willing heart, there is a place for you. You don’t need special qualifications, only a desire to make a difference.
There is plenty good room at St. Matthew’s for caring hands, compassionate hearts, and faithful servants. Come join us as we grow in faith, strengthen our community, and share God’s love with those around us.
“Serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received.” (1 Peter 4:10)
