Frequently Asked Questions
Why does St. Matthew’s accept online gifts? You can customize a completely individual method of giving, based on how and when you receive your income – whether it be bi-weekly, monthly, or semi-monthly. By setting up recurring donations to be automatically debited from your bank account or credit card, it allows the church to better plan budgets and expenditures and provides a more accurate financial forecast. It also enables you to stay on the path of your contribution goals by ensuring that even if you are unable to attend church on a particular Sunday, you needn’t worry about remembering to make that contribution the following week. With more consistent stewardship, our church is able to focus more on the ministry of God.
How secure is online giving? Online giving adheres to strict security measures. Our online giving platform, Breeze, has passed all the required tests to be fully compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards. The latest technologies available are used to protect against would-be data thieves. This makes your online giving very secure.
Will I see my online gifts on my year end statement? Yes – any gifts sent through online giving will be recorded in the same way weekly envelopes are recorded.
Is this service only for members of the church? Anyone, whether a member of the parish or not, may use this service to give to the church.
Is there any charge or fee for me to use this service? There is no charge to you for the use of this service. You select the dollar amount for your gift and that is the amount that will be charged. Your entire donation is tax deductible. Transaction fees are charged to the church and you will be given the option to cover the cost of those fees, but whether you choose to do so is optional.
