Organist / Choir Director Job Type: Part Time Salary: $18,000
St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church of Kenosha is a historical, progressive parish that worships in a traditional manner, recognizing that music, faith, and outreach unite us together as a community. We are seeking a talented Organist / Choir Director who is well versed in a variety of musical genres to lead our congregation and volunteer choir in worship. The successful candidate will be familiar with the Episcopal liturgical tradition and calendar, will be competent in choral music and leading a choir, and will work collaboratively with the Rector to grow and enhance the music ministry of St. Matthew’s. Here at St. Matthew’s we have a fully restored 1924 E.M. Skinner Organ, installed in 1925 under the supervision of Mr. Skinner himself. We also have a grand piano, a full and talented SATB voice choir, and a variety of other talented musicians within the congregation.
This position will be part time, 1,000 hours per year (average of 15 hours a week), which will include practice time with the choir and Tuesday staff meetings. Weddings and funerals are handled separately. Benefit included is 2 week’s paid time off.
