Have you ever wondered about why we pray?  Have you ever struggled with “how” to pray?  This Lenten retreat will discuss the practice of prayer from both sides:  why we pray, including biblical, historical, and theological understandings of prayer and also  hands-on experience with different practices of prayer within the Christian – and Episcopalian – tradition.

Date:  Saturday, March 14, 2015

Time:  9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Place:  St. Matthew’s Guild Hall

Cost:  $15.00 (includes continental breakfast and lunch)

Our speaker for the day will be the Rev. Anna Doherty, Vicar of St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church in Hartford.

Rev. Anna has been vicar at St. Aidan’s since December, 2009 and is also the Leadership Development Clergy Associate at St. James Episcopal Church, West Bend.  She is a 2008 graduate of Yale Divinity School and Berkeley Divinity School at Yale.  When she is not at church, Anna enjoys knitting, reading books, and walking her dog, Tillich.
